Believe it or not, this is (somewhat) important. I’ve got a plot bunny. (shoves the other plot bunny in a closet). Can someone help me out? I'm trying to find out how many people, specifically, were making this great voyage. Unfortunately, I can't find out the numbers, nor how many people die, nor how many ships get destroyed in various Cylon attacks, and whatnot.
As for ships, from what I gather from various websites:
In the original series, Adama's Galactica preserved about 220 ships and a couple hundred thousand people. In fact, the novelization of the theatrical movie based on the original 3-hour special television production stipulated that 22,000 ships had survived the Cylon onslought.
Number of people, max:
Prison Barge= 585
Electronic Ships= 350
Mineral Ships= 350
Foundry= 300 crew & NO passengers
However, there is no numbers associated with the Agro ships, the Sanitation Ships, or how many of each kind of ship there are. Plus, what about personal Yachts? How many Agro ships were there? I’m thinking that they turned at least one freighter into the Orphan ship, and another into the Old People ship, so that gives us an ‘about’ number to how many people it can hold, at maximum. However, there’s only one Orphan Ship, one Retirement Ship, One Galactica, and one Rising Star. Argh, the numbers!
For my other plot bunny: How much travel occurs between ships? I mean, is travel heavy? Even when they're trying to conserve fuel? What happens when a person tries to quarentine a ship?
